A tiling is the repetition of a number of identical flat tiles, arranged in such a way that they do not overlap and there is no empty space left between them. The tiling on the ground floor of the exhibition was invented by the English mathematician Sir Roger Penrose, and is made up of just two different shapes of tile. Now try to use the two shapes yourself.
