Ages 7 +, 11/2 hours
Children and parents participate in a fun-filled guided visit of the exhibition.
Paper Bestiary
Wednesdays: May 23 and September 12
Rubber stamp workshop led by graphic designer Clémence Passot
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Like young artists, children carve images of wild animals and other natural objects into a rubber surface to make their own rubber stamps, then use an inkpad to stamp their artwork into booklets, bringing the bestiaries of their imaginations to life.
Stories in Masks
Wednesdays: May 30 and July 4
Clay modelling workshop led by costume designer Elsa Maurios
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Children model an elaborate clay mask that they then decorate with mosaic tiles and beads of different shapes. This three-dimensional sculpture comes to life through the play of colours and the combinations of different shapes and materials.
Stories Within Stories
Wednesdays: June 6 and September 19
Painting workshop led by illustrator Aurélia Fronty
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Children make creatures out of modelling clay and colour them before positioning them against a backdrop of plants they have painted using pastels and acrylic paint. Their work is then put into a frame that they also decorate with all sorts of designs. The finished work forms the enchanted world in which their tiny creatures live.
Windows on the City
Wednesdays: June 13 and July 18
Scratch-cards workshop led by illustrator Élodie Nouhen
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Using the scratch-card technique on paper and glass surfaces, children design an urban environment in which streets, houses, gardens, games, and friends slowly come into view in a blend of bright colours.
Stories in Decoration
Wednesdays: June 20, September 5 and 26
Dress-up workshop led by artist Christine Destours
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Children cut an animal out of foam-board and dress it up using sequins and colourful accessories, then position it in a little stage set, in a scene that takes place at night, which they invent all by themselves.
Stories in Puppets
Wednesdays: June 27 and July 11
Construction workshop led by artist Magali Attiogbé
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Children construct a fantastic puppet that is half-human, half-animal. Shapes and patterns are formed by gluing on feathers, beads, and sequins, whose bright colours bring these fantasy characters to life.
Stories in Frames
Wednesdays: July 25 and October 3
Collage workshop led by artist Magali Attiogbé
Ages 8 +, 2 hours
Children take a paper animal and cover it with designs and patterns. Using black markers, pieces of lace, rubber stamps, and sequins, they decorate the frame that is to hold their individual artwork.
