The Cartier Award at Frieze

Cartier UK (cartier.com), is the associate sponsor at leading contemporary art fair, Frieze Art Fair (friezeartfair.com), supporting specifically the Frieze Projects and the Cartier Award (friezefoundation.org/cartier).

The Frieze Projects
Cartier is the sponsorship of the Frieze Projects through the annual curatorial program presented at the Frieze Art Fair, which comprises site-specific interventions, films, performances, debates and conversations. The Cartier Award, assigned by Cartier to a young artist in the Frieze Projects, carries on with Cartier’s long involvement with multi-disciplinary contemporary art, through the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain.

The Cartier Award
Since 2006, the Cartier Award gives an international artist within five years of graduating the chance to present new work at the Frieze Art Fair. The prominent award also incorporates project production costs up to £10,000 as well as a coveted three-month residency at Gasworks (gasworks.org.uk), a leading London studio. With the intention to encourage the current creation, the Cartier Award is an incredible launch pad for an emerging artist and consolidates Cartier’s long-standing and pioneering relationship with contemporary art.
