P.H.A.S.E.2

Born in New York, NY. Lives and works in New York.
A Bronx native, P.H.A.S.E. 2 is one of the pioneers of the subway art movement. He is known as a primary instigator of “softie” lettering. This writing style, also called “bubble”, using rounded letters and quickly copied by other writers, has today become
one of the major styles of the movement. A great innovator, P.H.A.S.E. 2 was also the founding father of “wild style” lettering. Subsequently, his work has led him to deconstruct letters, moving progressively towards abstract calligraphies. As of 1986, he was also an active participant in the publication of IGTimes, the first fanzine devoted to aerosol culture.
