To coincide with the exhibition Born in the Streets–Graffiti, the Fondation Cartier provides young visitors with a great opportunity to discover aspects of contemporary art through workshops on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

During the workshop each child remains the responsibility of the accompanying adult*.
Admission to workshop : 5.50 euros per child.
* accompanying adults pay the usual adult admission charge

Cinema workshop with Olivier Souchard
(age 9 - 11, duration: 3:00)
Kids will direct a mini-documentary about the exhibition. In groups of three, they take turns being director, cameraman, and editor, and choose their music. Later, they will be able to watch their film on fondation.cartier.com.
Fresque sucrée
Workshop with Anaïs Olmer
(age 6 and over, duration: 1:30)
Kids use pastry-making techniques in order to experiment with lettering and overlapping. At the end of the workshop, they will eat the fresco they made together.
Graffiti Workshop
Workshop with Mélanie Elzingre and the Association Zomeka
(age 12 and over, two 1:30 workshops and one 3:00 workshop)
The participants are invited to draw and then learn about aerosol painting techniques. On the last day, they will create a collective large-scale mural on wood panels in the Fondation Cartier garden.

(age 8 and over, duration: 1:30)
After discovering the universe of graffiti, kids will choose a pseudonym. Using drawing, cutting, collage, and coloring, they will create colored lettering on paper, which they can then take home.
Introduction To Graffiti (SOLD OUT)
Workshop with Mélanie Elzingre and the Association Zomeka
(age 7 and over, duration: 1:30)
Using the rules and codes of graffiti as a point of departure, kids will create their own letters and characters through techniques, such as: drawing and use of color with acrylic paint, felt, aerosol, backgrounds, and stencils. Bring clothes suitable for painting.

Kids interpret a work of their choice through music with the help of a palette of sounds that are linked to graffiti. The songs will then be compiled onto a CD and later sent to the children.

On a piece of foam, kids will draw and engrave their own graffiti. By printing their own designs, they discover the principles behind etching, printing, and the inversion of a drawing, an essential part of the engraving process.
